Bus Driver Safety Awareness Week spotlight 🚌 Bernice Hooks Davis has been driving for Sherwood and Sylvan Hills schools for nearly 32 years. She simply loves driving the bus and connecting with students whenever she can.
💇‍♀️ Bernice is also a cosmetologist and enjoys doing hair in her spare time.
🗣 “I hope I have made a difference in some child’s life,” Bernice said.

Tamika Parker drives for Sylvan Hills Junior High and High School and is in her second term. She starts each day with a smile and a mission to uplift students and be a source of light.
🌱 Outside of work, Tamika runs a vegan food truck, cheers on her son at Sylvan Hills football games, and works as a licensed cosmetologist.
🗣 “Knowing they saw the Light of Christ in me and it has spread to them is so rewarding!” Tamika said.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, students have been learning to salsa, exploring the vibrant music, culture, and traditions behind this lively dance. 🎶💃 It’s more than just steps — it’s a celebration of history, connection, and expression across Latin America. 🇲🇽🇨🇴🇨🇺🇩🇴

And let’s talk about our staff salsa stars — Mr. Stanley and Mr. Withers! 🌟 They joined in on the fun and showed that SHMS has some serious moves.
