English as a Second Language

The ESOL department provides English language support to students for whom English is not their only home language. Support for students is provided in the areas of speaking, reading, writing, and listening. The ESOL department serves students who are new to English, those who are learning advanced, academic English, and all English learners in between. The ESOL department is governed by rules from the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights, the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, and the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. Our goal is to help emerging bilingual students in PCSSD be successful in school and become college and career ready.
